Boyd and Allison Meyer entered the Bison industry in 2002 with a small breeding herd while also finishing bison in a feedlot located in Wellington, Colorado. In 2005 they moved their whole operation to Cheyenne, Wyoming when they began leasing The Terry Bison Ranch. Next, they developed 3 breeding herds: The Show Herd, The Lone Tree Herd, and The Big Herd.
The Show Herd is a single sire herd featuring one of the top breeding bulls in the nation Big Bear.
The Lone Tree Herd Consists of 130 females. Both Lone Tree and The Show Heard focus on DNA testing to identify the sires and dams.
Finally is The Big Herd which is our commercial heard that consists of 600 females. This heard mainly focuses on meat production but has also provided many top replacement heifers.
